From the new BMX film “Grounded,” etnies team rider and one of the true icons of BMX, Ruben Alcantara is on the show.
Getting ready to take off for the Fox “Pedal To The Medal” BMX Tour, Ruben drops in and tells us how he came from his early days riding in Spain, to becoming a widely respected BMX star. Plus, Ruben brings some friends and fellow etnies team riders to talk about working on the new film “Grounded”. Ruben’s sponsors include: FOX Apparel, etnies, Terrible 1, and Fly Bikes.
BMXin' In Costa Rica!

The first ever BMX competition was held at the Arenas skatepark in Costa Rica last month! etnies was part of the fun and here's an update:
We had great turnout and over 80 kids showed up to compete in two different categories Amateur and Pro, 60 and 20+ respectively. We also had over 400 spectators who came to the park to watch the action on Sunday.
The level of competition was high as a lot of the kids that entered the contest blasted out bar spins, tailwhips and even backflips off the newly built kicker ramp at the park. This was Arenas' and etnies' first effort to reach out and get in contact with the BMX community of Costa Rica and judging by the response things are looking great!

Here's the latest installment from BK:
I'll spare the details and let the pics do the talking. The last few weeks have been sweet! From Mayan ruins to Jellystone waterpark to foam pits and everything in between!
Congrats again to John and Andrea Heaton! Riding has been great. Just got off a UGP trip around the Midwest. Highlights from that one included Madison Street, Sprietzer's backyard, nice weather and hanging out with Adam Baker.
I also got invited to see Ivanka Trump (Donald Trump's daughter) speak at a summit here in Chicago a few weeks ago. She had some "interesting" things to say, but was mostly talking about how great her family is. The picture is from my phone and there was a bowl-cut in the way but you get the point.
Summer is here... yay! The following weeks should be busy ones as well.

Scott Towne, our etnies midwest sales rep, avid BMXer ass kicker and his lady had their second child last week. Dylan Luke Towne was born on 5/10/07 at 10:48am and weighed in at 7 lbs. 13 ounces. Congrats to all!
