Garrett Byrnes

Gnarly pedal slides down anything--it's amazing what Garrett Byrnes can do without pegs. He will show up at any spot anywhere and proceed to take apart whatever terrain sprawls in front of him--whether it's dirt, street, parks, vert ramps or, especially, backyard pools. Not just a grind man, though, Garrett can often be seen piloting his way across big gaps and transfers. He is well-known as a really good all around rider who loves to travel everywhere and make the most of his time in any situation. "I like traveling a lot, interacting with people, having fun with kids--stuff like that," Garrett commented on his nomadic tendencies.

Garrett hails from Beachwood, New Jersey, where he was born on February 22, 1980, and started riding around age eleven, mostly on dirt, followed by ramps and skateparks later. Early influence came by way of Matt Hoffman, Taj Mihelich, Joe Rich and, "Anybody riding really smooth." Garrett is such a positive, happy-go-lucky person who really appreciates what he has, it should be no surprise that he's well-liked by all.

When not riding his bike, Garrett can often be found skateboarding, surfing on the New Jersey shore and hanging out with friends. He'll pretty much try anything. Garrett's career highlights include, "Just traveling and getting to see new things. I just can't even comprehend the fact that I get to go to as many places as I do, so I just try to take it in as much as I can."
